About us
Home from home stays
We have been providing accommodation to visitors to Durham city for over 30 years. We sold our hotel business 3 years ago to concentrate on our self-catering cottages in Brandon Village, just a few miles from Durham City.
Each one has benefitted from renovation and modernisation to a high standard, reflecting what you’d expect from a quality hotel, yet with personal touches for easy, relaxed stays away from home. When rented together, White House Cottages comfortably accommodates up to 7 guests.
With our extensive knowledge of the area, we are able to direct you to some great restaurants, bars, historic sites and houses as well as guide you to explore miles of walks across the dales and moors or along the sublime North East coast.

Really nice place, ideal for a couple. Nice and clean. Very comfortable bed, with en suite, very good shower. Kitchen area has all that you need, including dishwasher and washing machine. Didnt need the heating on, as its so warm in here. The public house which is recommended by John is only a short distance away and comes with a 10% discount which is handy, if your on a budget. Highly recommended. Really enjoyed our stay.
